Wyx Removal

Hi

A friend PC is infected with Wyx Virus, AVG cannot remove it, any suggestion pleaseee :confused:

CA (http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/virus.aspx?id=9591) advocates this method for removal.

I've had a few systems infected with it at the Head Office, and even though it is a non-destructive virus, it is a huge irritant.

Also, to prevent further re-infection after removal, you might consider disabling or restricting access to the floppy drive, or removing it altogether, if it is not needed.

If your friend is running Win XP/ME, disable System Restore (http://www.trendmicro.com/en/security/advisories/win_me_clean.htm) first, and then clean the system.
