Ok so my computer is infected with spyware, atleast that's what the flashing yellow icon in my quicklaunch bar is saying. I also keep getting ads that pop up while not surfing the web and my computer has slowed down quite a bit.

I have Webroot's Spysweeper and Norton Internet Security Installed(bought both). my firstsweep with spysweeper found a trace of adware and a cookie both were deleted, now it is coming up clean. Norton found 3 traces and was only able to fix one.

What can I do here?

Did you update those security programs before you ran the scans?

Try going to Ewido.net and do an on-line scan.

Are you getting any messages or do you know the names of the spyware you got? Please post anything that will help us help you with this problem.

You might want to install SpywareBlaster to help keep malware off your computer too.

Yes I updated them before I scanned. The only messages I'm getting are security alerts which if clicked, will ask me to purchase some anti-virus products.

BTW, thanks for the help, this community has been very helpful to me and I'm very thankful for that.

Did you try scanning with Ad-Aware SE and Spybot: Search & Destroy yet?

Another program you might want to try is Windows Defender.

You can download the above programs (and many other security programs) from SpyChecker (http://www.spychecker.com/).

The only messages I'm getting are security alerts which if clicked, will ask me to purchase some anti-virus products. Try and get the name of these applications as some of them need specific tools to remove them.

Well so far no problems after they've been removed. If i experience any further problems i'll be sure to let you all know.

Once again, thanks for the quick help.
