I have an eVGA GeForce 6800XT video card I'm trying to install on a Biostar 6100-M7 socket 54 motherboard (AMD 64 3800+). Problem: vidoe card getting power (fan running) but no signal through either vga or digital outputs. Windows is not regocnizing what's in the PCIx slot either (not listed as instlled hardware in device manager). eVGA tells me I need to change the BIOS on the motherboard to recognize the video card over the integrated one on the motherboard. Biostar tech support not responding to email. Anyone know how to do this or have any other idea? Is it a bum card? Do I have a fualty PCIx on the mohterboard? Lost.

Razor, I don't think the bios needs to be updated or flashed.
The 6100 chipset does not automatically disable the onboard video when you put a card in the PCI-E slot. This is designed so you can use both the onboard and a card for multiple monitor support. If device manager does not see the card, either the PCI-E slot is turned off in the bios, the motherboard is defective, or the card is defective. I just downloaded the manual and there is NOTHING in there on bios settings, you are going to have to explore the bios screens on your own.
Confirm you have a 24 pin ATX 2.0 power supply?

Power supply is 430 W.
Finally got thru to Biostar. Told me to use the jumpers to reset the CMOS. Uninstalled the drivers for the 6100 integrated video, uninstalled the software for the new card, moved the only two jumpers I could find on the motherboard, put them back in place, removed and replaced the battery, plugged the monitor into the card and Walla – nothing but the card's fan running. The only noticeable difference on the PC was I had to reset the date/time and reinstall the 6100 video driver from Biostar’s website. Going to try another card my brother is sending. If that one works, the 6800XT goes back to NewEgg. If it doesnt, I guess a new motherboard is in the offing unless some one has another tack I can sail. Thanks guys, appreciate the help if for no other reason than knowledge gained.
