Hello all. I just installed my TV tuner card with XP MCE and i have to say that MCE is impressive. Its so much fun to play with. But i do have one gripe. When i'm in Media Center and i switch the output to the TV, whcih is a flat crt via s-video cable, the resolution is ok, but not that grat. I can live with that, but what bothers me is that there is a progressive area that gets lighter and moves up the screen. Its especially noticable when i'm on a black screen. Its not horrible, just very annoying. I know its not the tuner becasue it doesn't happen when i watch TV on the comp monitor. What can it be? The tv? The video card output, the cable? Any input would be great...thanks!:D

Also, what are some key resolution settings that will maximize my TV viewing expierence overall?

It's most likely your tv. If you don't have an HDTV, the resolutions will just plain stink. Most regular 4:3 crt tvs have a native resolution of 640x480, i THINK that you may be able to squeeze 800x600 out of them, but as you have noticed, the quality is severely lacking compared to a computer monitor.
HDTV resolutions (all in 16:9 aspect)

# 480i - 704x480 interlaced
# 480p - 704x480 progressive

# 720p - 1280x720 progressive
# 1080i - 1920x1080 interlaced
# 1080p - 1920x1080 progressive

Thank for the reply! Do you think that the moving area of litness is just something i'll have to live with or is it something i can fix?

So i figured out that if i switch my output before entering media center the resolution is much better instead of switching it in media center. I still get that area of lightness though, any suggestions? Also, when i extend my main and have media center on the TV, it doesn't me bring my mouse back over to the comp screen, suggestions there?
