Women love gadgets ... : http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/02/tech_beats_shoes/
I'm the go to person and no, my girlfriends don't love gadgets, they tolerate them as means to an end.
As for a decisions between a Judith Leiber minaudiere and a plasma tv, the price is about equal, the minaudiere won in all cases.
Which brings up another question : Who did they call for this poll ?

I'm guessing a younger generation was polled... in the call center I'm in, it's mostly women, 25 and under... and yes.. they are gadget inclined.

my eldest sister would definately buy a plasma, but my younger sisters would go out with their friends for the $500

Yeah I can see where the age would be a factor, but I'd like to see what the poll results would be of the same females in 10-15 years

I'm thinking the first article linked at the bottom of the page was more interesting. Something about how many people switch off their phones during....

Course, ya gotta remember, these surveys are done on Brits and as rjfvillarosa and Freakitchen have shown, they can be an odd bunch!;) :D

Makes ya wonder where the pollsters get a supposed random sampling...from the female subscribers to Popular Mechanics?...kidding. I really do think the younger generation of women are more mechanically/techically inclined. I see this in my 3 nieces.

It's not women liking gadgets per se. Women are automatically interested in whatever makes them be noticed and look appealing and denote status. If it's jewellery, then so be it; if it's gadgets, then so be it; if it's [insert what have you here], then they'll use it.
