I use AVG free edition to scan for viruses. I did a virus scan this morning and AVG detected that I have two "embedded" viruses. The message I get from AVG is as follows: Selected object is located inside the archive and cannot be healed.

The description I get from AVG is: trojan horse java/ClassLoader The description for the second virus is: Virus identified Java/ByteVerify. I looked up the definitions of these viruses using Google but did not find any solutions to ridding my computer of this malware.

I did just get done loading over 200 music albums on CD onto my hard drives and converting them over to MP3 files. Could this be the Sony rootkit that has been discussed?

What are my options? How bad are these viruses? Are these bad enough where I need to consider erasing my hard drives and reinstalling my OS?

Thanks

Open up your Java control panel and empty the cache. The newest Java calls them temporary internet files.
