Hi all,

On a wireless router (e.g. Linksys WRT54G/GL) do the LAN/Wireless MAC Address have to match? I know the WAN address can be cloned to the same MAC that is associated with the computer the cable modem was registered with. Or should all three MAC addresses (WAN/Wireless/LAN) be unique? I have the option to clone the WAN MAC and also the Wireless MAC, that is why I'm wondering. TIA.

on the LAN side of the network, it is vital that each device have their own MAC address, no sharing allowed here.

you can clone a PC's MAC address on the WAN port of a router as the WAN port is, technically, on a seperate network and the router only deals with IP addresses, it cares little about MAC addresses (the layer 3 and layer 2 of the OSI model respectively).
