Hi, how am installing a wireless NIC in my computer and was wondering: How do I disable the onboard network adapter that came with the mobo? Im running XP btw.

Just go into the BIOS and disable it,save your changes and you're good.

I don't think you need to disable it. When you install the wireless adapter and it detects your network, XP will automatically use it.

If you want to disable it for other reasons, yes you can probably do it in BIOS. If you can't find it there, you might also find it in control panel > System > Device manager, under network adapters. Just right click on its icon and select "disable"
