Hello All,

I would like to start off saying that when it comes to computers, I'm not all that smart... So anyone that is willing to help me, please break everything down like you would to a 5 year old.

Now that I've said that, I have a laptop that I use a GC83 EDGE/GPRS PC Card to connect to the internet. I didn't have a desktop computer at home at the time I purchased the internet service from Cingular Wireless, plus I was traveling out of town a lot to check on sick relatives so I needed the wireless internet service.

I now have a desktop computer at home and I do not want to pay another $40-$60 a month on DSL or a Cable modem. I'm trying to find a way to share the internet service from my laptop to the desktop. Both computer run on Windows XP and I've run the internet connection wizard setup, but the desktop will not connect to the internet. If you have any suggestions, please post.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

You need a CROSSOVER Cat5 cable to connect the 2 computers together. You have to run the networking wizard on both machines to set up the laptop as an Internet connection sharing host, and the desktop to connect to the Internet through the laptop.

Another option is put a PCI adapter card in the desktop that you can insert the GPRS card into. This one is the cheapest one out there that will WORK.
