Netgear Wireless Router

I have netgear WGR614, i cant log in to the admin page(www.netgear.net), it just goes to netgear.com. Iv tried 192.168.1.1 192.168.0.1 and the ip addresses i was told to write down during setup.
I can access the internet from my pc, and its a cable router

Open command prompt and type in ipconfig /all. This will bring up all the information that your primary protocol stack is set up with. The address that appears near "Default Gateway" is the address you type in to your browser to bring up your router's setup page.

the only addresses are 192.168.1.1 and 2, none of them work
Also my laptop can scan and find it but is getting no signal and cant connect i gave it address 192.168.1.9 and default gateway 192.168.1.1

Try using routerlogin.net, enter your username and password in the popup box. If you don't have those set up yet admin and password are the defaults.

That still takes me to netgear.com. when i do 192.168.1.1 which the router has on the back of it as defualt it takes ages to load then goes to page not found eventually

The router administration pages are not available using the URLs www.routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.net.
When accessing the Internet, various computer applications do a "DNS lookup", which is a way of converting between URLs that are easy-to-read such as http://www.netgear.com with their numerical equivalent. (For www.netgear.com, it's http://12.7.210.242/). Some programs make such a large number of request for these DNS lookups that the router's firewall software treats it as a potential attack. In this situation, the computer making these requests is blocked by the router from the Internet.

At the moment, there is no workaround.

Anyone know a browser i could use or setting i could change in firefox or IE to get aorund this

reboot the router and try 192.168.1.1 again.. Did you ever get to the routers settings at all, I'm thinking you must have in the begining to set it up. Can you ping 192.168.1.1?

I was getitng annoyed so i just phoned up
delete cookies, temp internet files(dont think this has to be done)
in connections and LAN settings make sure everything is unlciked
It worked fine after that

Another quick question, i have internet on both computers but they cant communicate with each other, they have the ip's 192.168.1.2/3, the wireless router is DHCP server, file sharing is enabled on both, what should i do so i can share files etc

Allow file and print sharing in the XP firewall exception list, if that doesn't work, install NetBEUI.

With Win2000 you have to enable the Guest account in local users and groups, users - or add users corresponding to the users that log in on the other machine. I would still add NetBEUI to eliminate any NetBIOS issues, with 2K that's easy, just go to your network connection properties and install protocol.

If you are using ANY software firewall on the computers, you have to get rid of it or set it to allow file and print sharing (if this is an option) or install NetBEUI to get around it.

From laptop to pc im getting request time out
from pc to laptop i got destination host unrechable
Before i turned my firewall of i notised there were packets coming from the laptop but it still isnat working
