Hello, I'm currently building a system, and up until now, I had been planning on using an ELSA Gladiac GeForce2 MX 32MB video card. However, I haven't been able to find it for sale RETAIL on any sites. Does anyone know any sites that carry it retail (preferrably below $150) If not, then would anyone recommend a video card that goes for about $100 retail that would be a good replacement (no lower than 32 MB and AGP please). Thanks

Try here (http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/ProdVGA-ELS.hmx?UID=&CID=&updepts=VID&DNAME=%3Cb%3EVideo+Cards%3C%2Fb%3E&Back=ProdVGA-ELS.hmx?).

They're all over the place really, just do a search for the Elsa Gladiac 511. They come in the 32 and 64 meg variety.

Thanks, I had checked MWAVE before but had passed over that, I guess, do you know what comes with white box?

White box means you get the card and drivers, none of the pretty retail boxes and game demos and what not.

Usually cheaper, because you're not paying for said goodies that you'll get in the retail box.

Same card, no slick packaging.

Xayd,

I heard somewhere that the "OEM" version of these cards sometimes have lowered specs (like clock speed, etc) then their Retail-Boxed cousins - is there any truth to this? Should I worry about this when I go shopping for a new card?

According to Pricewatch.com,the card (MX400 64mg) can be bought for $96 (shipping $8)at Newegg.com (price for online orders only). OEM versions of the card go for $75.

Some products may have lower specs in a 'white box' package, but I don't think nVidia allows this.

If in doubt, compare the specs between a retail one and an OEM one to make sure.
