Why go Pentium 4 When you can get a dual core processor (Pentium D) for the same price or less? Take a look at this setup:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819116238
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131538
Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141018
Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102033

Again, I do not know your budget, those are just examples.

An 805 Smithfield will clock at 3.3 with that board. It costs less than most of the P4s. That will hold you over until you can afford your C2D. The 930 is almost as much as a 6300.
