i have just been on honeymoon in marmaris(turkey). whilst there me and my wife were sung to by a karaoke singer and a dvd was made of the "show".
i bought this, brought it back and it works perfectly apart from the sound. there isnt any. i have opened this within "dvdshrink" to see if there is an audio stream and it is present.
this is specified as LPCM 2-ch Unspecified
is it possible to extract this audio stream and redo the dvd so that it works. i am new to dvd copying but understand a little bit about it.
any help would be appreciated
jay

Have you tried playing it in a computer or just a settop DVD player?

Your computer may just not have the right audio codec installed. Try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack - it's free at www.free-codecs.com.

I read your post a couple of times, and I don't really follow it.

i have just been on honeymoon in marmaris(turkey). whilst there me and my wife were sung to by a karaoke singer and a dvd was made of the "show"....Do you have the original or is this a copy? Did you take the video with a camcorder that records directly to disk? Is the disk in PAL format?

... i bought this, brought it back and it works perfectly apart from the sound. there isnt any.Did you ever view the original? meaning, did it have sound to begin with? (sound input does fail from time to time).

... i have opened this within "dvdshrink" to see if there is an audio stream and it is present. this is specified as LPCM 2-ch Unspecified. There will be a sound "track" whether it has sound or not. Why did you need to use dvdshrink?

... is it possible to extract this audio stream and redo the dvd so that it works. i am new to dvd copying but understand a little bit about it.Yes, you can seperate the video from the audio, but if there is no sound in the original, or the copy you have, there still will Not be sound. If there is a sound, but it has a problem with the sound track, you still most likely will not get it back.

this was taken on a cctv camera by the deejays.

Did you take the video with a camcorder that records directly to disk?
no

Is the disk in PAL format?
dunno, opened it and it is audio-ts and video-ts folders etc

Did you ever view the original?
expect not this was prob done str8 to dvd from a pc related setup i wud think (unsure as it was in a bar)

meaning, did it have sound to begin with? (sound input does fail from time to time).

There will be a sound "track" whether it has sound or not. Why did you need to use dvdshrink? i used dvdshrink to see if there ws a soundtrack as i am new and only know of this prog that shows there is one. i now know after your reply that the soundtrack is probably silent and i shud contact them direct. thx mate uve made me understand sumit.

again thx
