how to move icons on desktop

Hi all,
I'd like to scatter the desktop icon around on the desktop is there some way to do that.......you know some here, some there,.........or do they have to be lined up like good soldiers.....

Drag them to wherever you want to. If they always want to go back into place, right click on your desktop, go to Arrange Icons, deselect Auto Arrange.
