There's this guy I know, and he asked me to come look at his computer and see why it freezes all the time. He's a friend of my dad's so I feel obliged to at least take a look since he knows absolutely nothing about computers.
Any ideas as to why it freezes a lot? Or what he should do when it freezes?

Hi,
Need a little more info. First system specs., and then also when does it freeze? During boot/shutdown? When opening/using a specific program? If so, which one? HTH

Does it have an Amd processor? It could be overheating. It could overheat and freeze with any processor if the fans aren't working. Open the case and check. Might also be a problem with the video card or ram. Also check for any device conflicts in device manager. Control panel--system--device manager tab. Any yellow exclamation marks there?
