Hey people!

OK, so I have been helping people fix computers (hardware+software) for ages now, and the question I get most is...."Where’s the best place to buy a computer?"

I usually tell them the local places and online ect...but I thought I may as well cash in on this, and build computers for them! :) :)

I have NEVER built a computer from scratch, but have a good idea on how you put them together ect...

Now, all I'm a bit confused on is what to put in them??

I would like to offer something like this:

Mid range CPU
1GB RAM
Decent GFX card (around 128mb)
Nice looking case
160gig HDD
USB, Floppy, Ethernet

Ect....

Basically, a nice computer, not too expensive, and great to use for everyday tasks!

But what do you recommend for me to offer?

Please bare in mind I live in the UK, and have to pay an extra 17.5% for VAT! :( lol

Any suggestions would be great! :)

Thanks

Ashley

Offer to help them spec out a Dell, then make your money helping them set it up.

Your problem is going to be that each customer will want a PC for different applications and usages. Therefore you can't really just build a generic system.

ummmmm....I doubt it, they pretty much just need a home PC, so they wont be using it for more than light gaming/home vids.

Though, if somebody asked for a mid-range gaming rig, I could order the parts within hours and have it ready by the end of the week…

But, for a decent home computer, what parts would you recommend?

Thanks :)

For a decent home computer with only light gaming, I still say a Dell. You can't compete pricewise unless you use low quality parts, which will come around and bite you.
