building from scratch...
AMD FX64 in AM2 socket...built into a thermaltake liquid cooled case, but the included CPU heat sink does not have a mounting plate for AM2 socket.
Im looking to find a heat sink that will attatch to my AM2 socket or a kit for mounting the current heat sink into AM2.
Ive been surfing around looking for something that might work without much luck...thought id try here. Thanks for the help...

?
If you are using liquid cooling, you need to buy a water block, not a HSF.

I would first get rid of that horrible thermaltake watercooling and get a decent setup before worrying about the waterblock.
Im not sure if thermaltake makes a am2 version of that block.

OK i stand corrected..I need a Water Block.
Whats so bad about the thermaltake unit. Ive got a big radiator, two large fans and a working pump, just need a water block that will mount on my AM2 socket.
Currently ive gt the AMD heat sink installed and im running around 45-47 degrees celsius...
If the thermaltake units have issues, id like to know what they are...

1. Galvanic corrosion.
2. Poor performance.
3. High pressure drop
4. Poor quality parts.
5. Cracking waterblocks.
6. Anemic Pump
7. Performs nearly as good as a nice air heatsink
Overall a setup thats just asking for a leak. However if your still interested this is the waterblock I suggest:

Its a low restriction block that shouldnt put too much strain on the pump.

Thanks Ferrari...I had thought getting the cooling units as part of the case would save me some hassle and money, but it sounds like ive got what i paid for. Thanks for the link...
I will probably begin research on upgrading my cooling system...
