Hi there ppl, sometime ago I was given some advice by some of you kind enough to answer my doubts. It was about installing a new board and vga from an AGP sytem to PCI-E while keeping my whole programs and settings. As the hard drive is a Sata the IDE trick could not work but I did managed to make a repair using a XP Pro SP2 ( able to detect drives bigger than usual). Everything worked out fine, all programs are working fine,my settings are all there, drivers are ok etc.....all worked out as you guys suggested. THANKS A LOT. New Board- Asus K8N4-E SE AMD/ Socket 754/ PCIe/ SATA RAID/ GigaLAN/ Audio- The only thing is that my USB are not recognized by the new board. I connect the USB but nothing happens. I go to: manage disks and I get access to the usb (PEN Drive) but first I have to bind the Pen to a letter (H, F, etc). I can open the Pen either through the manage disks or desktop. But when I go to C:(my computer) the F, H, etc is not there (no pen, no removable storage). Every time I unplug the pen and insert it again I have to do all the above again (open manage disks, bind pen to a letter and access to it through there etc.....) I already managed to see in the bios settings and everything is ok (enabled in the usb settings), I also uninstalled the USB controllers, rebooted the PC and the system does install them again but when I plug the Pen or any other removable storage, kapow, nothing happens....I also connect my moblie phone, the mobile connects to the pc, all the sounds work, the phone confirms the link but when I want to open the content, kapow, same as above (nothing happens) although everything is there, detected by the sytem I can also access the moblile through the disks management but that's it. So I guess this could be a problem with the BIOS because in the BIOS I cannot access the "Advanced Peripherals" settings and set the USB to High-Speed. I say this because if the USB settings are in Full-Speed that will cause (??maybe??) this issue with the USB. BIOS update to solve the problem??? and if that does not work????? new windows install???? So I would, once gain, get some advice from you guys....this problems promises to be a "work-of-art"...a true challenge at least to a noob like me. Thanks in advance ans so sorry for this really long post. Peace out.
