How do I use the command line to burn an ISO?
I tried there example command but it just put the actualy ISO file onto the cd and upon
reboot it just hangs there. I don't know if I'm putting the command in correctly.

Is there a specific reason you want to use a command line utility as opposed to one that uses a GUI...they are far easier to work with!

In the link above there are directions on how to use it. example:

CreateCD -r:e -i:bootflpW98.img C:\Data\*.*

but this example doesn't tell you how to burn an ISO to the CD?

I did do createcd -r:e -ifilename.img c:\filename.ISO

where e is my cd drive and filename.img I just made it up cause I wasn't sure what to put in there. It ended up making a copy of the ISO onto the cd so If I look at the cd i can see an iso file on there now. but if I boot up it just hangs on the cd. I think maybe I did something wrong when I typed in the command to burn the ISO to the cd.

I did it using the program but I would still like to know how to do it using the command line utility that comes from the same company. I know I'm doing something wrong because the ISO shouldn't be burnt onto the CD. If you burn an ISO to a cd it expands to different folders/files onto the cd your burning. I know because I just did it with the program.

Personally I would just stick with the GUI version to save hacking about trying to get the syntax for the commands right. That is what GUIs were designed to do :p

As for an ISO...it is a disc image, so yes it will apear to be expanding the files out, but as well as the data files an ISO also contains filesystem meta data such as boot codes etc. This makes it easy to package a piece of software for purposes such as distribution over the internet.

My advise is...stick with the GUI :)

After reading through teh instructions again, via command line it only allows you to burn a bootable cd from an already bootable floppy. Although it's still nice for just burning data ect. onto a cd.

I recommend using ISO-burner free tool. It is extremely easy to use yet powerful and relaible soft. It never failed me before so you might wish to give it a glance
