okay im looking at this mp3 player

http://reviews.cnet.com/Toshiba_Gigabeat_S_MES30VW_30GB_white/4505-6499_7-31660763.html?tag=txt#more

however when u get to the 5th paragrah it says "other video formats, such as MPEG-4, AVI, DivX, and MOV, are automatically transcoded in Windows Media Player 11 (DivX video support was planned but not implemented)."

what exactlly does this mean? does it mean i just cant simple drag and drop a divx file in and watch it on the player.

Right, the player is not capable of DivX playback. So when you transfer the file, the software will re-encode the video to Windows Media format, then you can watch it.

I've heard good things about the Gigabeat S though, as an alternative to the iPod.
