Constantly Loosing Internet Connection, Wireless help!

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router that I have had for awhile now, everything has been find since about a month ago. I have 3 computers, a laptop, and two desktops. One is hooked up directly to the cable modem/router seems to be find, my other team once in awhile lose connection and I have to disable my connection and re enable. It is mainly my computer since I play online games like WOW, I will always loose connection. I found out that it was my phones beacuse I had two 2.4 ghz phones in the way, but I got rid of them and the problem seemed fixed, but now it starts again and the phones I have now are 900 and shouldnt interfere. I have called Linksys they told me to try and swtich channels with the router I have tried everything but nothing really works, should I buy a new router?

First off I apologize for not addressing your problem directly, but if you're playing online games the best idea would be to have a wired connection, not wireless. Wireless just isn't reliable.

I don't know that much can be done about your wireless problem, other than trying to eliminate other possible sources of interference. Wireless connections just aren't reliable.

I would update the router firmware, do a hard reset on it, and reconfigure it. Routers should be rebooted (power cycled) periodically on general principle.

check for driver updates on your wireless cards as well.

You can try to boost your signal for pennies. This will convert the signal from an omni-directional signal into a more focused signal in one direction.

Ok I bought a new router and I still get disconnected so I think its my D LINK PCI Wireless NIC card, maybe its failing Im not sure. I went into Device Manager and under other devices is a yellow questionmark and says Ethernet controller, would this have anything to do with my internet getting disconnected?

that sounds like it is your ethernet nic card.

if that was your wireless, then you wouldnt even be able to use your wireless nic since there would be no drivers installed.

chances are installing drivers for ethernet nic wont change your intermittent wireless problem, might want to try a new wireless nic (something besides d-link, i recommend linksys) and see if anything changes.

alright I just bought a new linksys wireless PCI nic card and it seems to be alot better, I still get the lagg spikes and my internet freezes but only for a couple seconds, I noticed I have a spyware popup that warns me about a virus that I DONT have on the bottom right and it seems when that pop ups I think is when I get the lag spike, what can I do to get rid of this I ran Spybot, Microsoft Defender, and ad-aware and eiwdo.

check for any spyware type programs in your add/remove programs

does the pop tell you the name of the program that it is claiming it is that is finding this virus?

A little yellow triangle pop ups bottom right and says, your computer is infected with PSW.x-vir trojan, it steals passwords and sends other people your ip blah blah blah, I click on it and it brings me to antivermins..

possibly, any spyware can cause all sorts of system problems, not to mention security risk (logging keystrokes, obtaining passwords, credit card info etc) it could be broadcasting which is eating up all your bandwidth causing you to lose your connection or have it appear to be laggy.

and also, I still get actual window popups that tell me I have spyware slowing down my internet speed and computer speed and it says download either antivermins, or spywarequake, or virusburst.

either delete it from quarantine or navigate to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\chameleonButton.ocx and manually delete it

you might have to show hidden files and folders to locate it.

open windows explorer>tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders

I even just tried a wired internet and I STILL loose connection, I am guessing it has to be something with my cable provider.

I meant there's nothing in the log that would cause that popup - however, you have too much crap running and you neglected to uninstall the D-Link adapter before installing the Linksys.

I'd start by properly uninstalling the D-Link, then uninstall Zone Alarm, Ewido, and Net Limiter.
