Do ps2 and usb use the same controller? I think it's bad. Also, is there some sort of pci board out there that can be used instead of replacing the motherboard?
Thanks

I believe this is how it works. If the keyboard PS/2 port goes bad, a USB keyboard will work as long as keyboard or legacy USB has already been enabled in the bios. If the keyboard bios goes bad, I do not think a USB keyboard will work. There are no PCI cards to fix either of these issues, it's a motherboard replacement. I believe the keyboard bios is a separate chip from the main bios and is not socketed.
