Having just installed quick time because I needed it to view something I now find gif's and mpg's and probably jpg's are all directed to Quick time. I do not want this. How do I change all of those to where they were before? I think jpg and gif were IE and I know mpg was Windows media player. If removing Quick time would do it I am not adverse to that.

Go to control panel and under folder options click on file types and select the ones you want to change, next click on change and point it to what you want it to open it with.

Whoops, Settings, control panel. There is no folder options showing except under
View and that is not redirecting files only changes how you view them. I guess I need further instructions.

Thanks

Ok, I forgot about windows 98. Sorry, right click on the file and then open with and then point it to what you would like it to open with and choose always open with.

Haven't used 98 in months.

Need another option. Right clicking on the file does not show an open with option. Open, yes. That opens the file in Quicktime. I should have mentioned WIn98se, sorry.

Thanks for the help. I found a place in Quicktime to modify what it viewed.

Hold the Shift key down when you right click and you will get an "open with" option.
