Just got my parts--- starting build

I just received all my parts and I'm going to start the buld either tonight or tomorrow.

I;m wonderring... I've heard alot of people suggest connecting everything outside the case first before installing.. should I do this or should I just dive right in?

Can somebody direct me to some instructions on how to do this?

Here's the specs

CPU = e6600
Mobo = p5w dh deluxe
RAM= 2 gb crucial
Case = 180p
psu= FPS 700 watt
HDD= seagate 320 gb
optical = liteon dvd/cd +-RW
windows xp
sapphire 512 mb x 1900xt
22 inch moitor...
