I have just ordered the parts for a first build. This will just be a simple MicroATX PC, as far as I know, this computer will work flawlessly, but that is the reason I am here, to get advice from everyone that has built a computer.

* Biostar TForce6100-939 NVIDIA Socket 939 MicroATX Motherboard
* AMD Athlon 64 3200+
* Kingston 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory
* Seagate 250GB UDMA/100 7200RPM 8MB IDE HDD
* Ultra V-Series 400-Watt PSU (Will fit in Case)
* Generic CD-ROM and Floppy Disk drives

As I said before, as far as I know, this computer should work flawlessly, but I have never built a computer before, I only have experience repairing them.

Well, we can't really critique the parts now that you've bought them. I will say though that you should replace the Ultra PSU, they are low quality units.

That is a very good point, I am aware that the PSU is low-quality, but I am not trying to make an uber awesome gaming rig, just a basic PC, nothing out of the ordinary.

Regardless of the use you intend, the power supply is connected to everything. If it dies, the results aren't pretty. You can leave it in if you want, but I would highly recommend spending another $40 for a good PSU. We have a list: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

I am lucky enough to live next to a computer store with a good price on an Antec Antec SP-350 PSU.

What computer case are you going to use (just out of curiosity)?

Well if he originally was going to buy an Ultra PSU that was ATX sized, I assume the Antec SP-350 will as it's the same size.

Yes, it will fit in the case. The case I was planning to use was can be found at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1800610&sku=ULT33114
