need help starting the build

cricket or someone pls need help i did the out of case and getting no pic and the cpu fan wasnt turning the green light on mb was on yes i have the 24 pin connected and the 4 pin also any ideahs? also i just turned on the psu i didnt touch the post's with screwdriver is that the cause?

You do need to touch the "posts" with the screwdriver. Just switching the PSU on (switch on the back) won't turn the computer on. Connecting the posts simulates hitting the power button on the case.

ok i just did and everything fired up the fans and it posted so im good to go sorry ya'll im just little nervous lol:) im going to procede with the build thank you for the response.

ok im installing the sata drive there will be only one sata drive im confused by the plug spots there are four on back. so i plug the one to the sata1 on mb and then the one from the psu that is black L and nothing in the other two spots on back? need to figure it out thanky you for your time

WOAH... be careful. If you installed both power adapters you can damage your drive. Install the two L shaped connectors, that's it. One for power the other for data.

on the optical drive the jumper is on slave do i need to put it on cable select?

Yes, that's correct, if it is the only optical drive.

on the optical drive the jumper is on slave do i need to put it on cable select?What kind of IDE cable is it? A 80 wire or a 40 wire? If it's an 80 wire then set the jumper to CS (cable select). If it's a 40 wire set the jumper to master.

80 wire IDE cables have a finer surface texture and the connectors use 3 different colors.

40 wire IDE cables have a more pronounced surface texture and the connectors are the same color.

i got it she is up and running fine os is installed and working on drivers but i hate this mouse gunna have to put my other one on it:( but i want to say thank you and im very grateful ya'll have been great help thank you so much:) my screen was small and font was small im working on that to. its running 35c cpu/ mb 34/c
