Hello, and thank you for taking a look:

I'm not not sure if I read this some place before or discussed this talking computers with friends. Here's my question, doese Win98SE recognize any memory upgrade over 512ram? Type of memory using, Viking sticks at 256MB 7.5ns PC13332X64 cls3 168dimm. Any response is apprieciated in advance. KTA

Yes you can use more than 512mb of RAM, however you must change your VCACHE setting in order to do it. See the link below.

I'm going to install 2 256 MB sticks into my new build, with a 64MB 4x AGP graphics card. This wouldn't cause any conflicts... right?

Morris, Hal or anybody,
Morris thank's for the link a great help. I have another question. I know the adage says "the more ram the better off you are". Can I ask you this, since I'm not doing any heavy rendering outside of converting NTSC to AVI, in your opinion do think I really need to install more ram? KTA

At today's prices, it sure doesn't hurt. If you are doing video work, I would stuff as much in there as you can - a gig would be nice - and get the fastest hard drives you can - 7200 rpm ATA100 drives at the very least. Consider Windows 2000 if your apps will all run on it - it manages memory much better than 98 and is a heck of a lot more stable.
