Hi,
I have an emachine PC that I want to use as a server for
a project but it has been giving problems. I used the original
restore CD on it and it was Ok for a while but its now bluescreened.
If I zero fill it with Dban or similar, will the restore CD restore it
to original out of the box condition with OS and programs etc.?
Or, is the restore CD just a roll back program and does not contain
everything ?
Cheers,
Chris

The eMachines Restore CD I have from an old machine (Windows 98) is a full copy of Windows and can install everything from scratch.

The best way to tell, would be to put the CD in the drive and reboot the machine. If you are offered to boot from CD and you are presented with options for recreating partitions and installing the OS then it's a full installation CD.

Just be careful not to go ahead with any of the reinstall options on the CD before you have backed up anything you want to keep from the computer.

Well , thats all I need - a little encouragement !
I don't need to keep anything on it.
I'll let you know how it goes afterwards.
Cheers.
