Hey guys, I have a question about backing up the songs on my iPod.

I have about 900 songs that I do not want to lose, the only place they exist is on the iPod itself (they were deleted from the external HD they were stored on). iTunes doesn't allow you to copy songs from the device to a HD, so my question is, is there any software out there that will allow me to do this?

I'm always prone to sporadic HD corrption on my iPod (it's happened to 3 different ones). Since my old music library has been deleted, I want a way to back up everything that I still have on my player.

Thanks all--

With a third party program like this one :

This program also says it can copy music from corrupted files and it has a free trial period so you don't have to buy it if it won't work for you.

For the rest, I guess you now know about burning the songs to disk (DVD or CD) as well as using an external hard drive.

Thanks pam. Thats what I'm looking for.

I had some time this morning to search a bit too. I found a piece of freeware called CopyPod that looks nice too (I'd link you guys to it but the filter here at work prevents me from visiting sites with freeware downloads).

I'll check em both out when I get home and let everyone know what works the best.
