Hi, I have a ECS K7VTA3, 1.4 ghz amd, Voodoo 5 5,500, 256 DDRam PC2100, Sb live X-Gamer, 60 gig Maxtor Plus HD, and the rest is important. Ok my first problem was everytime I was in a game or something of that sort that uses alot of RAM my computer would freeze. I didnt know why so I tried alot of things, but they didnt work. Finally I talked to a friend who had and fixed the same problem. He said to underclock my computer because this motherboard has a problem with ddr ram. I did this and changed the CPU frequency from 133 to 100 causeing my amd to go from 1.4 to 1.05 ghz. Now it dosent freeze. But i dont get 266 FSB nor do i get that extra 350 mhz i paid for. When kind of mother board is this where i have to underclock the cpu and ram just to play a game without freezing?!? Is there a fix for this !?!?
#2.) I just downloaded and flashed my bios with the latest bios update VTA311.bin. I went into my bios to see some of the changes, when i noticed the option for 4x AGP is now gone, and i only get the option for 1x or 2x. What is up with that. My video card supports 4x AGP, and so does this motherboard "supposedly".

First off, you skimped on the most important part of your computer system by going with a very generic motherboard. ECS is probably equal to PC Chips in product recognition/quality.
Second, the latest BIOS available for that motherboard is version 310e, not 311. Is it possible that you downloaded the incorrect BIOS?
The link for that motherboard's most current BIOS is here (http://210.209.13.179/bios/vta310e.exe). I hope this helps.

Can't agree with you Tiretool on ECS making poor motherboards, ok, they ar'ent overclocking boards, but you very rarely see a bad review of an ECS mobo if ever.one thing they are known for is their stability and i'd put them a bit higher than pc chips, although i once had a pc chips board and it was very reliable. I've recently built 2 computers with their boards and i'm very impressed.
It's all down to opinions i know, but i've seen just as many horror stories with big name boards. Just my two cents ;)

I have to agree with raydioactive, I just built my system with the latest ECS board and it's been great for the price. Check all the latest reviews, people love the board. I can't vouch for their earlier products but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another ECS board.

Everyone is certainly entitled to an opinion and I surely respect both of yours, but I still stand by mine. You won't catch an ECS board in this house.
Search the forums for ECS and see what you see - seems to me a LOT of posts have been made lately concerning ECS boards - and a lot of them are concerning problems that you just don't see much with "quality" boards. I gotta go with the Tool on this one - ECS = PC Chips. You get what you pay for.
