A friend of mine called. She uses AOL and has teenagers. Lately when she opens AOL, it automatically goes to a "Male Point of View" chat room, goes into "scroll" mode, and starts spouting a bunch of foul epithets that include the active username.
How can I stop this for her?
TIA

Send her to www.moosoft.com (http://www.moosoft.com) to get a 30 day eval copy of The Cleaner and run it. Sounds like a trojan.
She also should have a current, *updated* copy of Norton or another good antivirus package installed, and run that too. I think you can still download a free copy of Inoculan.
Zone Alarm firewall wouldn't be a bad idea too, it's free.

Thanks for the comeback.. I just went to the moosoft site. That looks interesting. I'll sure try it.
I don't know what she has for virus protection. But I'm familiar with zonealarm, norton, and inoculateit. Between those we should get her protected.
Thanks again,
