Laptop HD - data recovery...

Hello everyone my first and I am sure not my last post...

I have (Had) a Compaq laptop which had a nice cup of coffee yesterday and like we all know coffee is bad for your health...

So I am now recovering data off the hard drive (I'm away from my office and therefore do not have the back up data as I would normally have...

I have two problems

1. the HD was password protected so I am using Knoppix to get to the data - this is working well... so I have problem 2 -

2. I need to restore my recently sent received email and also some email folders I used microsoft outlook - and this laptop has outlook express.... I have no idea where to start... any help would be great...

Outlook uses a single .pst file for everything - mail, contacts, and calendar, but OE uses a set of .dbx files, one for each mail folder and the separate .wab address book. You can import OE .dbx and .wab files into Outliook, but not the other way around. You will have to upgrade the current machine to Outlook.
