Has anyone heard of VirusBursters?
A friend has this loaded on his Desktop and it is not in the add/remove programs. I tried system restore since it appeared today; went back each day three days and it stated it could not restore.
Any Idea on how to get rid of this?
He his PC is a Sony Vaio 1 GHz AMD Athlon with 384 MB of ram running XP home edition.
Thank you!

Have you used this site and their downloads before? I don't want to unwittingly put more nasties on in an attempt to remove the first. :)

Bleeping computer is a quality site. Not familiar with the other one.

Wouldn't you know it. The other one foud the stuff, but wouldn't remove it unless you bought their software. I went through the registry and deleted the nasties, but they loaded them back after reboot.
Will try the Beeping site next.
Will let you know what happens.
Thanks

My friend and I want to thank Statica and Panama Red for their help in removing the dreaded Virus Burster.
The site BleepingComputers.com was great, well explained at describing the removal process. I would recommend them to anyone.
I have talked to my friends about this site, it is truly great!
Thanks!
