So I download Yahoo widgets engine and when I go to install it AVG pops up with a alert saying
" trojan horse PSW.Lineage .pQ" (vulgar acronym removed - PR)
So should I just ignore it?
All my security stuff is up to date, if that helps.

It might be a false positive, but I wouldn't ignore it. I would check you computer out for a virus online - http://www.pcpitstop.com has a good online virus check and there are other good ones also.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but I would never install anything from Yahoo, I don't like them as a company, every program I've used has either ended up in tears, a reformat or uninstall (maybe not in tears)
As for the Widgets, I used them for about 3 hours and went off them, you'll be better using Gadgets in Vista.
Sorry about my anti-Yahoo post, I just don't like them.

No need to apologise. I've removed plenty of yahoo garbage from people's computers during the process of cleaning infections to know that I will not download any of their stuff either.
