Have this computer which I just installed a new hard drive and reinstalled windows 2000 did all updates and than downloaded avg and installed it but than when I went to download updates wouldn`t do it haven`t got the computer near by but the message said an avg was already running can`t find any running so I went to uninstall the program and it says that it can`t uninstall as a missing dll can`t really remember the name of it but last letters were ment. Not sure if this is enough to go on or not I have done a serach for files on the search C drive and long list of avg is listed .
I would like to get rid of all these and start fresh nyway I can do this. Expect it may have something to do with the registry . Hope someone can give me some help

Which uninstall methods did you try? Add/Remove programs? The AVG uninstaller? Have you tried running a registry cleaner to see if that helps?

I have tried all of the uninstallers the add remove programs Avg and even went into the hard drive and tried in program files and yes I run reg cleaner I used easy cleaner maybe a better one but I can`t find it.

Try simply downloading the most recent version of AVG and installing it over the top of the existing installation. I have had to do this several times recently with customer computers running AVG.

This solved all of their issues.
