Mouse jumping about

Hi guys,

Got an annoying problem at the moment, for some reason my mouse seems to be lagging, i.e. I move it then a few seconds later it moves by itself. It also seems to have a habit of just flicking off to one side of the screen by itself. Obvoius thought at first was the surface causing the problem so i've tried it on several different mats and surfaces, also went out and bought a new mouse (microsoft optical basic) and tried it both in the USB port and the PS/2 but the problem is identical which is now why i'm thinking its software rather than hardware relates.

Anyon got any ideas where I can go from here?

Have you scanned for Spyware/virii lately? Might want to do an online scan at ewido.net.

My friend's mouse is acting up, too. The cursor will suddenly fly across the screen and peg at an outer edge when I am moving it. Scanning for malware now on that website.

Well it found 107 tracking cookies. Those aren't exactly malware. I doubt they are causing any problems.

Nope, problem was with the old mouse and a brand new mouse both exibit same problem.

Going to try doing a virus/sypyware/malware scan later. Thanks PR
