a while ago i read some article about folder permissions and i fooled around with the permissions.
i obviously didn't know what i was doing because i cannot save anything in that folder.
i get an "access denied" message.
can someone guide me on how to restore permission to myself?

Assuming XP pro here, right clck the folder and click sharing and security, then click the security tab and if you can not fix it there, then you may need to go into the advanced settings from there.

it's not as simple as that.
i remember doing something like deleting all users with permissions to the folder (and instantly regretting it).
now if i go into the advanced tab i can fool around and set permissions to the folder but there are over 100 subfolders and i don't want to go to every one and set it (plus i'm not really sure what i'm doing).
in the "owner" tab, the owner is listed as: S-1-5-21-861567501-1326574676-839522115-1003
what does that mean?
i can choose my name or administrator from the list and then set "full control" but something is obviously wrong.
