Trying to set up my printer and running into the software not wanting to do the final stages of setup. Using the newest download (basic) as the cd that came with was outdated on it's drivers. Is this a Windows problem or what. Also..need to be able to get stuff to print from the net and use with with other computers in the house.( Not networking the computers together though.) Help !

What does or doesn't happen when it gets to the final stage?

The final installation windows do not appear. Everything just stops with no prompts. (After clicking ok in line item 6 of the "Basic " install instructions.) Thanks.

Does the printer show up in your control panel? Are you able to print a test page?

I almost always find that CD's that come with printers and other peripherals are pretty buggy. Might be best to use the Add A Printer Wizard in the control panel. That also avoids having all the other "stuff" they put on those CD's loaded on your computer.

If you want to use the printer with more than one computer without sharing it on a network, you'll need to get a USB print server. This still has a switch that will allow networking if you wish. You'll have to shut off file sharing to stop network sharing.
