Hi, is this printer a good printer. i.e. I heard that after your toner runs out on some of these new laser printers, U have to replace more than juat a toner.

OR do u think it a good idea t buy a new printer such as the 1020... (I need only a black ink printer) or get a good condition HP4 or 5?

thks

It sorts of depends. What kind of printing volume will you have? In other words, how many pages do you expect to print in a given month? Also, do you need any other features besides just printing capability (i.e. faxing, scanning, etc.)? HTH

The good thing about all HP black lasers is the integrated cartridge. Replace the cartridge and you get toner, drum, and developer. The only other maintenance item is the fuser, which should last for 100,000 prints. Other brands of entry level lasers may have cheaper toners, but they are only toners - drums and developers are separate items. You can *usually* get away with using rebuilt cartridges in HP's - or even a manual toner refill or 2 before the drum and developer are shot.

Its a great little printer. But it does have it's limitations....Citrix support comes to mind.....apart from that I'd have one too :)
