* AMD 2X 4200
* RAM 2 GB
* ECS motherboard
* Gforce 7900GS video card
* 200 GB HDD Maxtor SATA II
* DVD drive

1st boot up to a: floppy; go into BIOS configure for RAID (SATA enabled) ; BIOS sees the DVD drive and Maxtor HDD. Went into configuration RAID setup as striping; then clear drive; set up as bootable.

when enter c: error with "invalid drive"
when enter b: (i do have win XP install disk in DVD drive)
error with a(abort) , r(retry) ...

tried another DVD drive (now using DVD CD writer combo drive)

Same problem with B:
tried c: , d: e: f: all came back with invalid drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using a burned copy of WinXP?

XP OEM version; tried another data CD; wanted to see if I can access DVD writer drive. same error abort, fail.. retry. Tried hooking to IDE 1 and then IDE 2 same problem.

DVD Drive is good tried it on HP build system.
b: (abort fail retry...)
c: invalid drive
d: ...
....

I was hoping also to see the Maxtor drive (BIOS RAID configure; I assume when you clear the HDD will format also.

You need 2 identical HDs to set up a RAID 0.

Single hard drive? Set SATA as IDE, not RAID. Boot with the XP CD, not a floppy.
