First Build...Computer Won't Stay On

Hi, this is the first time I am ever building a computer. I have already gotten and installed all the parts. Here is what I am using:

- Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW
- Thermaltake Purepower W0129RU ATX12V 600W PSU
- Asus P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor
- Corsair XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
- 2 x Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KSRTL 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
- Biostar V7903GS22 GeForce 7900GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

So here's the problem....I've installed everything and everything is connected right. I used everything that came with each device in the box and everything does get power. When I turn the computer on, it does it's check on everything, and it does recognize everything installed, but the computer won't stay on for any longer than 30 seconds. I've checked all the fans and connections over and over again and even tried removing memory like another thread had posted. Does anyone know why this is happening? This is my first build and I'm not going to lie...I am a little scared. Do I maybe have a bad motherboard or PSU or did I do something wrong with the processor?

ok, so i've figured out the problem....my processor was reaching a temp of 92 degrees C and that was why it was powering down....now my problem is that i don't know how to fix it. I don't understand....I have the processor and the heatsink/fan that came with it installed. I followed the directions that came with my process or right out of the box....I don't get it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!!

recheck the heatsink/fan. It may not be in good contact with the cpu. What did you use for thermal paste between the two parts? Make sure the heatsink supports are properly connected into the MB.

Take the motherboard out of the case and make sure the "pins" on the heatsink are snapped in all the way. It takes quite a bit of force to get those suckers in. You've got to hear a "snap" when they go in all the way. You'll have to have the motherboard out of case so you can support the motherboard and look and see if all the pins are in all the way.
