Hi guys, ive just registered, so a big hello to all.

Im pretty new to the computer scene, ive done a couple of courses and im currently in uni studying a 4 year course on computers. But im not so sure on components. I currently have a 4 year old computer with a

2.8ghz pentium 4 processor
512mb DDR Ram
120GB Hard Drive

I have only mentioned these 3 components as that is what i wish to upgrade, not so much the hard drive but i recently installed a new graphics card. I am wondering whether it is best to go for a duo core processor or stick with a pentium 4 but upgrade its capacity. I have plans 2 buy a new computer, but if i can enhance my computers performance then i shall not bother.

Can anyone instruct me further on this?

I have one other problem, i have a 3 year old computer and everytime you go on the internet with it, it freezes, the keyboard freezes as well and i have recently defraged and clean the computer up. Can anyone help me on this?

Thank you so much and again a big hello to everyone!

First things first:

Which motherboard are you using? The fact that it is DDR memory means it won't be able to run a Core 2 Duo and will need to be replaced.

Which power supply are you using?
