I'm a writer and I need a little research info. Is there a way to find out if someone has been snooping on your computer? If so, what's the procedure?

Thanks a bunch.

Depends how they snoop.
If they physically use your system and read your documents you can open c:\windows\recent and sort by modified. If you did not open the document on the date it shows then someone else did.

Hi Kassia,

Places to check for "tracks" include run history (Start->Run), internet history (in the History folder), auto-complete history (pull down boxes), and like bob suggested, the recent documents folder on the Start menu. Also check files for their "last modified" date. Hope that helps.

A trick I use to find files that have changed is to open the find-files and leave it blank for the file name and search the whole drive. Then sort by modified and scroll down past all of the directories and the changed files will be first.

if you search for all the files on your harddrive that could take a long time.

do a search, and leave the name blank, but put last modified in the last 1 day or something.
