I new to forum and dont know alot about computers....i did figure out how to download and update my video card (nvidia gforce 5900) and found a program named Belarc which says I have motherboard software "Award Software 6.00pg"....does Award software need to be updated? if so, how? motherboard box it came in says "an35n ultra v1.1, nvidia nforce2 400 ultra, cpu athlonxp/duron"....running xp pro. everything seems to be running ok. i want good running to play wwiionline multiplayer game. pc is about 3 or 4 years old. antec cabinet. 2 ghz, 1 gig memory, any other info you need to tell me what i have and what i might need to do to get best performance? thank you for your very much attention.

Welcome to PCM.
Award is the company that created the BIOS on your motherboard. If the system is acting as it should, there is no need to update it.

thank you alaron for your quick reply....the "Award" software is dated 2003 which made me question if it was up to date.
also, for you to know, i have found a nice free program called "cpu-z" at www.cpuid.com which you run on your pc and it give you a nice report. i think if people have questions to you they could send you a copy of that report and it would tell you much about the pc to help you help them with the questions. it is a good report for someone like me who knows little about pc.
