I'm giving my daughter my old 233mmz with WIN 95B. She uses AOL IM a lot and has a rather extensive "buddy list". I have IM on the computer I'm giving her but It's set up under my name. What's the best way to transfer her buddy list and any other files she'll need so she can use it without extensive set-up again?

I do not use IM, but I am pretty sure that all you have to do is log in as a different user (switch screen names) and all your buddy lists will be there. Give it a try.

If that doesn't work, grab the whole AIM directory off her old computer and copy it, then reinstall AIM.
In AIM there's a function to save your list, just need to save it in a file and copy it from the floppy to your AIM directory, then load it after logging on. After it's loaded the first time, it'll be cached as the default list.
Xayd, who was stuck
on AOL for awhile

these things about

Thanks a lot guys,
My daughter uses IM through our ISP, we don't use AOL. I'll try the advice posted.

Yeah, same here. I hated AOL as an online service, but Instant Messanger is about the most stable and reliable of the private chat programs about. I like it and still use it.
