I've been looking into getting a laptop and besides basic browsing and word processing, I'd like to play the Sims 2 and all expansions. I get so confused with all the chipset stuff and memory specs...

Anyway, this is the link to the specs

I appreciate any and all help you can give.

Also, I don't want to spend more than $1,000.

Thanks,

Almost any laptop today will excede the requiremnets for Sims 2. About the only thing is to make sure you get at least a gig of ram. Take a look at Dell's selection.

Oh, good! I was just looking at the Dell Inspiron E1505. Does this look good?

The E1505 should be fine - and even though they are Hypermemory, the optional ATI graphics adapters are worth looking at.
