i am currently looking for a smaller external hard drive. from like 100-150GB, i like the looks of this one and the size is great also. like this one i was looking for one that gets power through the usb if possible. i may go with this one, but if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136059

With the $25 rebate, that's a hard price to beat. I usually opt for a 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure and a laptop hard drive, but a 100GB combo would probably run over $120. Most of those 2.5 inch enclosures run off of usb power but many of them require you to plug into two usb ports in order to draw enough power to run the drive with sufficient stability. The good thing about a separate enclosure is that you can replace the hard drive if something goes wrong so you have more flexibility.

I normally recommend Apricorn housings, but their 2.5" housings are cheap plastic. Go for that WD, the price is decent.
