power supply wires too short

Finally got all my parts and can't even get started.

Case- (antec) SLK-3700 BQE
PSU- (antec) 350 smartpower
MB - (ASROCK 775 DUAL-VSTA PT880PRO
CPU FAN-- ARCTIC FREEZER 7 PRO

Why in the world would they make the wires too short for a case this big. If I did not put the big fan on then it might fit . Went to Antec's site but that was a waste of time.
I could splice in some wiring, has anybody ever done that? Any help appreciated.

Which wires are you having particular difficulty with? I have spliced wires before though, but I only recommend it if there is no other option. There are several types of extensions available as well.

That case looks to be a standard sized mid-tower. Which wires are too short? If the PSU,then you can get extension cables. If the case to motherboard connections, double check to see if the cables are zip tied to the case frame someplace.

Did not explain that very well, did I? Power supply to the 20 pin atx. I know you can get extensions but these fools want more in shipping than the product. I have been waiting forever to get my parts and now it's kind of disheartening to have this crap show up. I can solder and would check with a multimeter when done. Guess I should have installed the INTEL heat sink fan and it may have fit.

One thing check is if the 20 pin connector is Ty-Rapped togetther with other connector runs which may restrict it's full length. Can just snip off the ty-raps all the way to the PSU.

Nothing that simple. I always thought Antec had their s--t together but now I know different. Even if I had not installed the artic freezer it would still be stretched pretty tight. I've soldered on circuit boards before so adding a length of wire would not be too difficult, just time consuming. I did find a site that is reasonable on shipping. They send the extension USPS for $1.38. If you think soldering is a bad idea I will order the ext. and wait for the snail mail.

If the 20 pin cable is around 12", that pretty much standard. What isn't conventional is the layout of that Asrock board. Most boards have the ATX connector along the back edge of the board instead of the middle by the I/O ports.

That's the answer I was looking for. Most of the time you have to tie wires out of the way because they are too long. Just my luck. I will contact asrock but I'm sure that won't do any good. Thanks for the info.

Just use the extender cable. This happens with cases with unusual layouts and motherboards that are in-between boards in terms of standards /technology.
