I have 2-250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA 3.0GB hard drives. Someone told me that setting them up in "RAID" would help to speed up game play. Could someone recommend the steps to take to do this?

IMO, RIAD 1 would be your best option. If you set up an array using RAID 0 and 1 of the drives fail you cannot rebuild the array and you could lose your information

Raid 1 does not help speed - it actually hurts it a bit, all it does is mirror the 2 drives and you only have the capacity of 1 drive. Raid 0 supposedly helps speed, but is hazardous to data. If you don't care about your data and want the last bit of speed you can get, then do a Raid 0.

Raid 0 really won't help you for gaming at all. Your levels will load slightly faster, but actual gameplay will not be affect at all.

OK . so raid wont help. In what ways can I speed-up game play and multiplayer game play?I know about DSL connections, CPU,RAM,Defrag, Spyware, Etc. How can I squeeze more speed out of my PC ???

I tell all my gamer customers, if you want a good gaming machine go with an AMD processors, a high end pci-express video card, at least and no less than 1GB of ram.
In multiplayer game play, your basically looking at your connection speed. The slower your connection the more lag you will get while playing online. See if your ISP offers a higher connection like 3m.
Your ok with the Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA 3.0GB hard drive, no need to change that.

Have you compared AMD to Intel since Core 2 Duo came out?

To use RAID 0 or not has a negligible effect on you're game. The only thing RAID 0 will do is decrease your read/write times...which for a game is negligible. You're graphics card has the greatest effect and then you're CPU and RAM. Some games utilize more than one Gig of RAM...so get two gigs if you want to make sure you are not being limited by you're RAM. More than two gigs of RAM is a waste for XP
