First build - some power connection advice please!

Hi,

Have just started my first PC build, now i believe i researched everything quite well, but i have hit upon one problem, and that is connecting up all my power cables for the drives and fans etc. I am using the Hiper Type R 580w PSU, and the Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming case, which has 4 fans all with molex connectors. I have one DVD drive and one HDD to connect also, both using molex.

Im basically stuck because im really not sure how i should be connecting them all up, and the modular aspect of the Hiper makes it even more confusing! :p Do all molex connections need to be connected somewhere? I.e. all 4 fans have pass-through molex connectors, do both ends need to be connected or can i just plug something into one end and leave it like that?

If someone could guide me through setting this part up, basically 2 molex drives and 4 molex fans using the Hiper cables, i would be eternally grateful. :)

On a modular power supply the idea is to eliminate as many wires as you can, so no they dont all have to be installed and they dont have to be connected to a device on the molex end. You can connect both drives to one wire with two molex connectors. As far as the fans check the molex connectors on them and you may see that there is only two wires. If you connect a fan to one and then connect that to a HDD or optical drive it will not work. It must have all four wires to work as a passthrough to a drive. Drives need all four wires. If there is only two wires just connect your fans to the other power cable and they can all be on one molex if it will reach all of them or use the three pin adapter and connect them to the fan headers on the motherboard. The fans have male and female ends so they can be daisy chained. One end will connect to a molex from the PSU and the other is left open.
